SMALLER REGIONAL CAMPUSES

As you can see it is a smaller campus. We are amalgamated with 3 other campuses across the region. This way we can offer much more in the way of services and courses to the community. However it means being very flexible in how we use our resources. The distance between each is up to 100 kms. Obviously information technology plays a big part in helping us to do this.
I really enjoy working at the smaller facility as it has kept the feel of a small country town. Everyone knows each other and gets on well.

RELATED EQUIPMENT

I then familiarise them with the equipment they may need to know about if their client has a problem with the relevant body system. Here they are looking at various types urinary catheters and drainage bags. If I was teaching about the respiratory system I would show Oxygen masks, medication inhalers etc.

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY.3.
The students here are dissecting lamb kidneys & injecting them with water to see how the filtration system works. When they see the water come out of the ureter it really cements the theory in their minds plus it has the added benefit of being fun.

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY.2.
When I deliver this subject I cover the theory first. Explaining the healthy renal system and then relate it to how they student might care for someone whose renal system was impaired.

TYPICAL CLASSROOM

An example of the typical classroom. Computer and internet access. Over head projector. Video conferencing equipment. Students can watch a teacher being filmed at another campus whilst they are delivering a class. This is great in country areas. Cuts down on travel time for teachers and students, where it may be over an hours drive to get to another campus. Much more effective use of resources.

MAIN ENTRANCE FOYER

The main foyer of the building. To the right you can see the reception desk. From here you are directed to the various parts of the building. Beyond the orange lounge chairs you may be able to see the computer rooms. One is for student access in their own time, say if they do not have access to computers at home. The other is a formal classroom that is used for research.
