This is the location of the Hairdressing program, a
specialization of the Handicraft program in upper secondary education. The
program is three years long. Most students start when they are 16. They have an
exam. Some will work as hair stylists, some will go on as a hairdressing
trainee and then get a trade certificate. You need 2500 hours training in the
workplace before you can do your trade certificate test. Our hairdressing
program has about 300 students totally.
300 students is a lot in one place. In Australia we dont generally have that many student in hairdressing at any one place. the entrance looks very inviting...like a real salon. Do your students work in salons during their three years? Our students generally do and they have a four year program. Are they paid while they do their 2,500 hours of work placement?
