When I deliver this subject I cover the theory first. Explaining the healthy renal system and then relate it to how they student might care for someone whose renal system was impaired.
Absolutely. I find that by the time you get to the practical, the students are answering the questions of the other students. The practical element cements the theory. You can almost see the "lightbulb" go on.
The theory first and practical second sounds a very sound teaching method. Do you find this works well?

ReplyDeleteThese teaching moments are very important arent they? It is just so wonderful to see our students put theory into practice.
